Anthony O. Pereira

President & CEO

altPOWER

Anthony O. Pereira has more than 14 years of experience in leadership, building
renewable energy projects throughout the New York Metropolitan area with some
of the leading architectural, engineering and construction management firms in
the world.

An accomplished corporate strategist and marketer, his vision and expertise in
renewable energy have driven solar energy issues to light. His achievements
have been featured in professional papers on renewable energy and he has
been a speaker on the topic at numerous events and conferences throughout the
world. He has also been a featured guest on several local, national and
international radio and television programs.

His interests for the environment grew whilst attending Warwick University in
England, where he was undertaking courses for his BA in Economics from
Fordham University. Upon receiving his degree, he began fundraising and
activist work with Greenpeace Action in New York City. Following a year with
Greenpeace, Anthony decided to fall back on his experience in the construction
industry. Coming from a family of contractors, which to this day provide services
in Connecticut, he decided to take his experience and his interest focus to
improve a very wasteful sector of the economy. While working for his family
business he attended a semester of courses in architecture at City College New
York in Harlem and upon finishing began work with David McAlpin Architect P.C
in Manhattan. After 5 years in the New York City architecture and general
construction industry he began to work again with his family contracting firm
while pursuing projects in solar electricity.

In 1998, Anthony founded altPOWER, Inc., a renewable energy design and
construction firm based in Manhattan with a primary focus on solar electric
systems. Within the past 10 years he has built altPOWER into one of the most
successful and well respected renewable energy businesses in the Northeast.
