What is the school doing green -
California State University, Long Beach offers three areas of concentration in Design which are Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Interior Design. Each discipline offers numerous projects within its curriculum that highlight different areas of sustainability. For example, Interior Design tackles problems that deal with LEED certification and creative stainable interior solutions. Graphic Design and Industrial Design teaches packaging and product design that uses sustainable principles, such as single source materials, transportation, cradle to cradle, source reduction, etc. The faculty believes that educating the next generation of designers must include a strong indoctrination in sustainable design principles.
