Body Glove Wetsuits

The passion I have for creating art and design work as well as creating change has taken me on a career path from student, to teacher, to designer and artist, to a mentor and director where I currently work at Body Glove Wetsuits as the Senior Wetsuit Designer and Art Director. Over the past three years at Body Glove we have positioned ourselves as the number two wetsuit company in the surf market with advanced products and technology. Over the past two year’s of design and development we brought the first environmentally friendly wetsuit to market which utilizes petroleum free, limestone based rubber and a corn based outer material, as well as soy inks and recycled zippers. As an artist I have made my art less personal and shifted the concentration to social awareness. I created the pseudonym, The Love Movement, which embodies this principle in order to separate the artist from the art and catapult the most important principle; the concept. The Love Movement was established with one idea in mind, to make a positive difference in society through the enjoyment of creating. As the world continues to shrink, conflict and instability continue to spread, rendering it nearly impossible not to focus my creativity towards an altruistic goal. The potential of art and design’s impact extends beyond the pleasure, which can be derived from its aesthetic quality, as it can function as a tool, to empower and provoke individuals towards instituting change.
